Very Unusual
Sealers Liquid Measure Tools
Made by W & L.E. Gurley
A sealer is the person who works for the department of weights and measures.
These are the vessels that were used to verify liquid measures.
Here you have the 1 gallon, 1/2 gallon, pint and 1/2 pint measures. The handle is marked with and eagle and N.Y. 11.
I'm thinking they were made for New York City aound 1890. Each vessel is marked with capacity as well as W&LEGurley Troy NY
A customer brought these to us and she has had them for 40 years and didn't know what they were. Thanks to google's archive project we know now!
I love a mystery!
